They say life begins at 40 but when I decided to go back to college at that age, it’s pretty nerve-wrecking and exciting. Going back to college may have been exciting if you are young and carefree but when you are of the same age like me, it may seem like I am the only old kid on the block. Motivation could play a very big role especially at this age for one to make such decision such as education. I was not able to get a college diploma myself because of so many factors in the past, we weren’t financially stable and my income wasn’t enough to get me and my family through the day. I was left behind taking care of my younger siblings. Now, I could say that I am financially competent, my kids are big enough, it is time to take care of my personal goals. Thanks to a devoted husband who has inspired me about education. He taught me that even at this age, learning is still crucial especially if one still wants to have a career growth. Although I must say that I have more patience with studying and I feel more superior over my younger classmates. Time management was one thing that kept me going. I have to work, take care of our household and attend classes at the same time but all was well after I graduated. It was hard work for the whole family. Quite a tough phase but I made it and my family couldn’t be prouder of me.
Being not so geeky, I decided to go around the university and school directories here. It was so time consuming. I didn’t know that it was easier done on the web. My son recommended me this online school directory that has helped me save a lot of effort and time. With just one click, I am given a lot of information already. In the past, it was easy to enroll yourself but now, there are so many requirements for applications. Everything would have been so tedious for me. The website which was the W3Education, helped me learn more about the current U.S. education system. I was given the idea that I should check first the accreditation of school. The admissions process was daunting but because of their list, I was able to narrow down my favorite schools which made it easier for me to choose at the end. I didn’t know that there was even a timetable for admission policies. It was all too simple learning about those things. I read about application guidelines as well, giving me lessons on how to make it neat and clean. To sum up the days that I spent in going around, could just have all been done in a day or so.
If you are also on the lookout of going back to college or university or simply getting a higher education, I would recommend this website that helped me make everything really easy and simple.
